Speak-A-Message & Internet

Speak-A-Message has features that need access to the internet. Your firewall will inform you of these actions or simply block them.

Action: keep blocking

Not recommended!

• Speak-A-Message will continue to function;
• however, some of its features will not work.

Action: allow

In order to avoid such issues, we recommend:

• Add the 'SpeakAMessage.exe' file to the list of applications your Firewall allows to access the internet.
• You will find this option in the settings of your firewall or anti virus.

Examples for the internet access

• Download a new skin from the Speak-A-Message website
• Receive a SAM and download the attached skin from the Speak-A-Message server.
• When you create a new skin the relevant files need to be uploaded to the server
• The transfer of photos and audio messages via the server (not email).
• Program-updates

These examples are not exlusive.

Firewall interventions

Firewalls differ in the extent to which they intervene. Some even deny playing sound effecst within the web browser. Should you remark such issues, please adapt the configuration of your firewall or anti-virus.

• Download Speak-A-Message only from our or other trustworthy websites.
• All our installation files have a digital signature. When this digital signature is in place you can be sure that the software has not been manipulated.
