Browser-based email
Even if you haven't configured an email client you can send audio messages easily by accessing your webmail account (e.g. Hotmail, GMail, Yahoo Mail etc.) in your web browser.
No need to navigate through all your folders
Browser-based email is great but adding attachments can be a hassle. Speak-A-Message simplifies this process by copying the attachment's file path to the clipboard. You only have to paste it into the file name field after opening the file selection dialog.
Steps
- Record a voice message.
- When done with recording, check the checkbox 'I use webmail'
- Launch your browser and log in to to your webmail account
- Create a new email message
- Click the button to add an attachment. Open the dialog to select the file.
- Switch back to Speak-A-Message
- Click the 'Copy for webmail' button (this copies the path to the audio attachment to the clipboard)
- Switch back to the dialog for selecting the attachment file and select the text field where the file name can be entered
- Paste the content of the clipboard with <CTRL><V> or <SHIFT><INSERT>
- Click OK to attach the file
More time-savers
- Clicking copy to webmail a second time copies a short text to the clipboard. Paste this text into your email message to inform the recipient that an audio message is attached
- If you attach photos to your audio message, the path to the photos is copied to the clipboard in the same way
- If you attach photos, Speak-A-Message will automatically adjust their size to avoid overloading the recipient's inbox
Playing audio messages in your browser
When you receive an audio message through webmail, you may have to save the audio attachment to your hard disk and open the file from there.
